 On behalf of myself and on behalf of the staff of our "Dzherelo SPK" company I would like to greet you on our web-site and to thank you for the time spent looking through our proposals. Travel can open new doors to understanding/ self-realization, and personal development. These pages are designed to appeal to people and travel companies who take their inquiring minds and the spirit of discovery on vacation, and who look for more than the standard "fun and sun" vacation would offer. We've assembled here a selection of some of the world's most interesting travel experiences, with pictures and descriptive text to help you make your choice. Everybody remember the Gorbachev's era of "Publicity and democracy*. Simalteniously with the Berlin wall destruction, with withdrawing the Soviet armies from Afganistan and other epochal events on the territory of the Soviet Union the private property and the very first private enterprices were founded. Exactly at that period in 1988 a few fellows graduated from the same institute came to the decision to organize tourist company thus founding "Dzherelo SPK". The very first experience and first money have been earned due to the help of our colleagues and friends from the East European countries where we have sent small student groups. Just in a year we could purchase as a scrap metal two steam locos (class Su and PD) having invested in their repair all our money. In June 1991 the very first and quite successful steam loco tour took place which has been organized to Ukraine for the British tour operator of the "Railway Travel & Photography" company. This tour started our work at the international tourist market. Afterwards we continued to make investments and practically all money have been spent for purchasing new classes of steam locos and coaches. Now our company is the owner of a comfortable private train and a great collection of operating steam locos among them Er (0-10-0), Em(0-10-0), L(2-10-0), LV(2-10-2), FD(2-10-2), P36(4-8-4) and many others. After the break-up of the Soviet Union in August 1991 and the independence of UKRAINE we concentrated all our attention to the development of the incoming tourism inviting the guests to our country. We have believed in the great tourist potential of Ukraine and we havn't made a mistake. Our team is in a constant search: new and new packs of programmes are being developed, new itineraries are being investigated and new types of tourism are being provided. Our main aim is to provide to the Ukraine tourist market the programmmes and types of tours which differ of the service provided by other tour operators. As a result except the traditional CLASSIC, CULTURE TOURS we propose such fascinating programmes as RAILWAY TOURS (with and without steam locos), MILITARY HISTORY TOURS, NATURE EXPEDITIONS, BIRDWATCHING TOURS, HORSEBACKRIDING, ARCHTTECTURE.VINE AND WALKING TOURS and many others. The geography of our tours covers the territory of Ukraine, Russia, Beloruss and Rumania.
The number of tourists in our groups varies from a few persons (for example in Horsebackriding tours) up to 8-10 persons in Nature Expeditions and 40-45 persons in classical tours . While operating our private train the average number of tourists is usually about 20-25 clients. All the groups are assisted by highly qualified and well skilled representatives of our company who speaks either English or German. If necessary the interpreters of other languages are being provided. The great support in our tour programmes development and the tour assistance the company receives from the Ukraine Academy of Sciencies and the State Railway. For quick and effective solving the problems connected with visas receiving and borders crossing we use the help of the Ukraine Ministry of Foreigh Affairs. Our more than ten years activity is highly appreciated by foreign partners among them are the following companies, clubs and tour operators: LCGB (Locomotive Club of Great Britain) - steam loco tours, Asahi Sun Tours Qapan) - culture tours, Mr.Nils Huxtable (Canada), Gunter Ozco (Germany), David Rodgers (UK) - tours for the railway photographers, SMB (Swenski Militarhistoriskt Bibliotek, Sweden) - military history tours, Swenska Kultur Resor (Sweden) - classic and culture tours, "Biosphere Expeditions" Our strategy and philosophy will continue unchanged as we all cruise toward the millennium - What's in store for the "Dzherelo SPK" in the 21st Century?
